Our History

Origins

EaglesThe firm history began in 1950 when Mr. Glenn Berry opened his practice.  Mr. Berry had a distinguished career as a fighter pilot in World War II.  He served as an American volunteer with the Royal Air Force in one of their Eagle Squadrons.  He later flew P-51 Mustangs for the Army Air Corp and was shot down over Europe.

Bill Scovill

BillBill Scovill moved from his home state of Oklahoma to Florida in 1966. After completing law school at the University of Florida, Bill joined Glenn Berry in practice in 1969.  Prior to law school, Bill served as an Armor/JAG officer in the U.S. Army.  Bill attained a degree in Finance and attended law school at Oklahoma University prior to transferring to the University of Florida.  On April 14, 1972, Mr. Berry was tragically killed in a car accident, after which Bill Scovill took over the firm.

Bart Scovill

Bart_BettinaBart Scovill joined his father in practice in 1993.  Like both his predecessors, Bart served his country.  Bart served four years as a Cavalry Scout in the U.S. Army during the Cold War, and like his father, he also attended the University of Florida College of Law after earning a BSBA in Marketing at the University of Florida.

Present

In 2012, Bart opened his own office and is now located conveniently near I-75 near UTC.  Bart will always look back fondly on his days practicing with his father, and will be forever grateful for the valuable lessons he learned.
